To start Episode 0, open the Chapter Info menu, select the "Chapter 5 The Saga" tab, click the Watch button, and select "EP 0 - Prequel: Shamala and Nightmare" under "Iria". If you were undergoing the G17 questline before the addition of EP0, and have not received the next quest in order to continue the story, start Episode 0 through the Chapter Info menu to receive the next quest. You may not play other episodes while playing Episode 0. Unlike the other episodes within The Saga: Iria, Episode 0 is not replayable. Warning: Choosing to stop the Episode at any point will erase all progress. You can not skip the cutscenes on your first playthrough of the Episode. Completing this Episode of the Saga, unless completed on Monday or weekends as a first completed episode, will yield a total of 163,000 EXP plus 200,000 EXP from the Complete Saga Box. Thus, the first run yields a total of 363,000 EXP from completing this Episode plus EXP gained from killing the monsters. However, if the Episode is completed for the first time on a Monday or over the weekends, a total of 463,000 EXP can be obtained instead. A majority of the quests involve large mobs that will attack in large numbers. It is highly advised to be ready, as some of the mission will put you directly with the mobs. It is also quite lengthy, giving more than enough time necessary to complete each mission.

Shamala and Nightmare (also known as Shamala 2: Nightmare) are a series of quests that serve as a prequel to The Saga: Iria and mark the beginning of Chapter 5. Shamala deals with Cor Village's struggle to ward off demons from their village, but the villagers accuse her of causing the problem due to her ability to transform into the very animals possessed by the demons. In the Nightmare, the mastermind behind the attacks, an Unknown Man, reveals to have sinister plots against Shamala, the Milletian, and Millia.

Shamala

Black Panther Panic

Instruction	Talk to Kousai. Clear the Black Panther Pursuit Mission. Defeat Gray Wolves × 5 → White Wolves × 5 → Black Wolves × 3 → Bats × 10 → Black Panther × 1. You will obtain a Mysterious Lingerie after defeating the Panther. The Black Panther has somewhat high Defense and Protection and large amount of HP. It may take quite a while for those with low skill ranks to deal damage. Complete the quest. [3,000 EXP and 1,000 Gold]

Mysterious Clue

Instruction	Talk to Waboka about the clue. Talk to Tupai about the clue. Talk to Kousai. Clear the Black Panther Pursuit Mission. Defeat Brown Bear × 1 → Hellhound × 1 → Lycanthrope × 1 → Ghost × 1 → Black Panther × 1 → King Black Panther × 1. The Ghost is rather weak in terms of normal attacks, but its Fireball will deal a large amount of damage. The Black Panther is the same from the previous quest. The King Black Panther is a larger version of the Black Panther with higher HP and possesses Heavy Stander and Mana Deflector. It will also Teleport repeatedly between attacks, getting hit, or activating its Standers. Because of frequent teleports, it can evade attacks such as Fireball, Spear of Light, or Fury of Light. Complete the quest. [5,000 EXP and 2,000 Gold]

The Identity of the Black Panther

Instruction	Talk to Shamala. Clear the Shamala's Spirit Hunt Mission. Shamala will assist you in defeating Possessed Boar × 1 → Hellhounds × 5 → Giant Lycanthropes × 3 → Ghosts × 6. Shamala has very high Defense and Protection, so assisting her will not be necessary. Be wary of the Ghost's Fireball. After the ghosts, Shamala will transform into a King Black Panther and you must fight against Giant Headless × 1 → Salamanders × 6 → Pack Elephant × 1 → Elephant Demon × 1. Salamanders multi-aggro. It is advised to let Shamala attack the group alone. The Elephant Demon is simply a red Grim Reaper but lacks Grim Reaper Windmill. Complete the quest. [7,000 EXP and 3,000 Gold]

Shamala's Disappearance

Instruction	Talk to Kousai. Clear the Find Shamala Mission. Defeat White Snakes × 12 → Blue Snakes × 8 → Red Horn Cobras × 6. After defeating the Red Horn Cobras, Shamala, in her King Black Panther form, will arrive and assist in defeating White Pythons × 6 → Blue Pythons × 6 → Jungle Cobras × 12 → Ascended Python × 1. You will receive a Giant Lion's Spirit Ewer after defeating the Ascended Python. The Ascended Python has an extremely large hitbox due to its size. The repeated use of a high ranked Windmill can safely pin it down. Complete the quest. [10,000 EXP and 4,000 Gold]

Spirit Disaster

	Information	It may be hard to move around by clicking. One may use the movement keys instead. Her location is just east of where you spawn, defeat four waves.
Instruction	Talk to Kousai. Talk to Shamala. Clear the Shamala's Crisis Mission. You will role-play as a Giant Lion with Rank 1 Defense, Combat Mastery, and Critical Hit, as well as Giant Lion Roar, Smack, and Advanced Heavy Stander. As the Lion, defeat four waves of Hobgoblins of all varieties as well as Armored Bears. Giant Lion Roar can stall enemies through repeated Normal Attacks. Smack does more damage at the end of impact than the rushing part of the skill. Learning Counterattack by attacking an enemy who has loaded Counterattack will make the Armored Bears much easier. It is strongly recommended to take all necessary steps to reduce lag as using Smack will often leave you unable to walk for a few seconds. The mobs will attack Shamala as she is laying on the ground, wounded and unconscious. The mission fails if you let Shamala's HP hit 0, or when you are defeated by the mobs. It is recommended to use Smack over Shamala. Complete the quest. [12,000 EXP and 5,000 Gold]

Shamala in Crisis

	Information	You will need to know the Potion Making skill. Herbs can be gathered prior to this quest. WARNING: Completion of this quest will cause Shamala to disappear. This is intended and not a bug. Although, if you have completed The Saga: Iria, Shamala will not disappear.
Instruction	Collect Base Herb. Collect Bloody Herb. Collect Mana Herb. A Bottled Water is also necessary for making the potion. Defeat 20 Lions. Lioness will count towards the requirement. Make the Possessed Potion with Potion Making. Requires one of each of the following: Base Herb, Bloody Herb, Mana Herb, and Water. Success rate is 100%. Give the Possessed Potion to Shamala. Complete the quest. [200,000 EXP, 10,000 Gold, and AP 30 Potion]

Nightmare

The Nightmare

	Information	After completing Shamala, relogging or changing channels will result a cutscene that starts Nightmare. If you were undergoing the Shamala questline before the addition of Saga: Episode 0, and have not received this quest, start Episode 0 through the Chapter Info menu to receive the quest. Upon receiving this quest, you will be given a Wings of the Blue Goddess to Cor.

The Spirits of Evil Swarm In

	Name	The Spirits of Evil Swarm In	NPC	Waboka
	Information
Instruction	Talk to Waboka. Clear the Rampaging Cor Village Mission. Waboka will assist you in defeating Demonic Warriors × 2 → Demonic Warriors × 5 → Trolls × 3 → Demonic Clerics × 5 → Demonic Clerics × 4 + Demonic Archpriest × 1 → Demonic Archers × 6 → Arachne × 1. Waboka possesses the abilities he uses the Erinn Martial Arts Competition. Arachne lacks her Passive Defenses, but can summon Burgundy Spiders to assist her. Waboka, Kousai, Tupai, Ruwai, and Kusina will assist you in defeating Giant Headlesses × 2 + Ghouls × 5 → Demonic Archers × 3 + Demonic Warriors × 5 → Demonic Clerics × 10 + Demonic Archpriests × 2 → Demonic Poets × 9 + Demonic Archpriests × 2 → Argus × 6 → Lesser Liches × 5 + Demi Lich × 1 → Demonic Archers × 10 → Volatile Zombies × 11 → Demonic Warriors × 14 → Gold Mask Ghosts × 9 → Ifrit × 1 → Unknown Man × 1. The assisting NPCs possesses the abilities they use from the Erinn Martial Arts Competition while Tupai uses Fighter Skills and can summon two Otters to assist him. All mobs will lack their Passive Defenses. The Ifrit does not possess Advanced Heavy Stander. The Unknown Man possesses Advanced Heavy Stander, but is completely stationary and does not attack, only summoning various monsters from the previous waves. The assisting NPCs will disappear when the Unknown Man spawns. To easily subdue the Unknown Man, simply use either a ranged type of attack. This can include magic, however the proximity of bolts might alert his summoned monsters. Adniel's Horn Bugle and Spear of Light can work as well. Complete the quest. [50,000 EXP and 1,000 Gold]

Instruction	Talk to the Unknown Man. He is stationed right at the center of Cor. Clear the Coming Days Mission. You will Role-play as Shamala. She has dual Bipenni, and will more than likely defeat most mobs with a single hit or combo. She also has 1,650 HP, 1,028 Mana, 850 Stamina, 1,500 Strength, 1,028~1,470 Damage, 262 Defense, 90 Protection, 6 Magic Defense, 10 Magic Protection, and 16 Armor Pierce, as well as Rank 1 Combat Mastery, Smash, Defense, Counterattack, Windmill, Final Hit, Assault Slash, Axe Mastery, Evasion, Magic Mastery, Fire Mastery, Ice Mastery, Lightning Mastery, Icebolt, Firebolt, Lightning Bolt, Rank 5 First Aid, Rank 7 Mana Shield and Rest, and Rank Novice Critical Hit. Follow the path of the blue flowers and to the exit of Solea while defeating Ghouls × 8 → Argus × 1 → Ghouls × 4 + White Ghost Servant × 1 → Ghouls × 3 + White Ghost Servants × 2 → Banshee × 1 → Ghouls × 5 + White Ghost Servants × 2 → Arachne × 1 → Verona Black Prison Ghosts × 3 → Ghouls × 3 → White Ghost Servants × 3 → Prison Flying Swords × 4 → Arachne × 1 + Banshee × 1 → Doppelganger × 1. After defeating the Metal Skeletons, Millia will arrive and assist in defeating Giant Skeleton Hellhounds × 2 → Skeleton Ghost × 1 → Armored Skeletons × 6 → Skeleton Armor Ogre × 1. A Ritual Against Demons

Millia will assist you in defeating White Bush Boars × 5 → Black Aardvarks × 6 → Horned Aardvarks × 6 → Plateau Wild Boars × 8 → Almost Sacrifice-worthy Boars × 2 → Sacrificial Pig × 1. The Sacrificial Pig is essentially a giant version of Grendel. Complete the quest. [50,000 EXP and 1,000 Gold]

Fickle Fate

Instruction	Talk to Tupai. Clear the Sacrificial Offering Mission. Millia will assist you in defeating Cor Villagers × 5 → Cor Villager Archers × 9 → Cor Villager Archers × 5 and Kusina → Tupai + Ruwai → Cor Villagers × 6 + Kousai → Waboka. Cor Villager Archers aggro in pairs and have an extremely large range (approximately 30 meters) and aiming speed. Beware of all summons done by Tupai and Ruwai. It is best to single them out as best you can without alerting the other. When Kousai appears, it is best to subdue him first, attacking him during his casting animations. Be wary of Kousai's Chain Casted Firebolts, as one hit may cause an instant KO. Talk to Tupai. Talk to the Unknown Man. He is located right between Tupai and Ruwai. Clear the Escape Mission. This mission takes place in Solea's underground caves, where Adniel's Horn Bugle cannot be used. Millia will assist you in defeating Ghoul × 1 → Hollow Knights × 2 → Pirate Crewman Skeletons × 3 → Pirate Captain Skeletons × 2 → Bone Drakes × 2 → Bone Dragon × 1 → Demonic Warriors × 3 → Demonic Archers × 3 → Trolls × 2 → Specter Warriors × 3 → Specter Archers × 3 → Gold Mask Ghosts × 3 → Demonic Poets × 3 → Sacrificial Pig × 1 → Light Banshees × 4 → Elizabeth × 1. The Light Banshees, like the Lesser Liches in previous missions, have fairly low HP and can be easily defeated, usually in a single hit. Elizabeth is basically a Banshee with an unusual tendency to Teleport and cast Fireball often. Complete the quest. [300,000 EXP, 10,000 Gold, and AP 50 Potion]
